Wooden Computing

To think that I was amazed by that wooden and leather laptop a few days ago. Now BoingBoing have linked to EcoGeek - an article about wooden computing. Wooden monitors, mice keyboards… this guy even has a wooden iPod:

Wooden Computer and iPod

Unbelievable… check back here in six months because I will surely have my own modded masterpiece well underway by then, this has inspired me.

wow, I love that stuff, especially the monitor.

Pity I was so rubbish at woodwork in school. And lest someone thinks that’s a gender generalisation, I was - unbelievably, especially to me - top of my class in metalwork.

  2. James Says:

I was the opposite - good at woodwork, but spent too much time trying to make ninja stars in metalwork. My thermostatically-controlled candle extinguisher was a disaster.

A “thermostatically-controlled candle extinguisher”? That sounds very fancy. I only managed a poker, some ashtrays and a bizarre Star Trek badge type thing.

Sinead - dont encourage him for god sake!!

  6. Taylor Says:

Same for me, woodwork was fine but when it came to metal, ninja stars were all that sparked my interest.
