Firefox seems especially snappier. I really like the new GNOME deskbar applet too. I can see where they're coming from, having used the old text based debian installers, but the Ubuntu installer always seemed very user-friendly. Sounds like this is better yet. I chose the top item on the boot menu, whatever that was, and it booted straight into a Gnome desktop, livecd style, and that's where I'm posting from now.Two icons on the desktop, one with various example files (ogg audio and video, openoffice files, selected chapters from the Ubuntu book), a second labelled Install.
