What the Dog Dragged In

June 22nd, 2006

Today the dog came back with a pack of 8 Crunchy Chicken Fillets in her mouth, partially frozen. I don’t know where she gets these things, but this means that in the past six months she has stolen from the neighbours:

  • A side of smoked salmon
  • A rack of lamb
  • A string of sausages (in true cartoon style)
  • 8 Crunchy Chicken Fillets

Reminds me of that Heineken (Budweiser?) ad with the hawk. I don’t know what to do about it.

I have a feeling you will be having a visit from your irate neighbours soon.

I laughed out loud at this post, it looks like she is actually getting into someones fridge! And the funnier thing is apart from the frozen chicken, she has expensive tastes (RACK of lamb and smoked salmon), maybe thats a clue! Do you have any swanky neighbours with fine palettes (sp)?

    What a clever pup!

Our mutt Disco Fred is sort of the opposite. We give him stuff to eat (doggie dental sticks, butcher bones and pig’s ears) and he immediately trots off to bury them - and NOT after chomping on them for a while, just straight away like.

Recently we converted a shed type building in to a recording studio and the garden was torn up from things being dragged across it.

Lo and behold, we found a haul of old bones, chews and a handful of pigs’ ears.

I’m going to give that stuff to my brothers’ dogs instead.

If it was me, I’d reward the dog, cook the chicken and maybe make a nice salad to have with it. Free food; It’s all good!

Disco Fred… what a great name for a dog. Had trouble in the past with my cat bringing stuff in - I nearly got sick when I found the maggot-infested corpse of a baby rabbit behind the couch. I was tempted to eat the crunchy chicken fillets today, since there was no food in the house, but decided not to since they could be poisoned.

Disco Fred has his own mySpace profile - http://myspace.com/discofred

James, your dog looks cute even though I’m not a fan of that breed. As others Red Mum said, he has expensive taste. Train him to bring home caviar and truffles next.

Hah nice, Disco Fred is quite a character.

The dog isn\’t my breed of choice either, but it was a stray and could find no home for her. For the past 12 years, Tayto was in the family:

He died about two months ago - found him disemboweled in the garden, don\’t know by what.

    Awwww. Cute name too.
