Thats a coincidence - I just discovered ctrl-option-command+8 two days ago and have been using it regularly since then. It makes the screen more visible in the dark... probably in the sun too but I haven't tried that yet.

For another (useless) video trick try control+option+command+8 - great for using on other people's macs when they leave the room!

Thanks... will have a look at that, and will give Virtue a bash while I'm at it I suppose. Multiple desktops are good. I've actually had a Joost account for a few weeks now - thanks for the thought anyway. I wasn't recommending Yojimbo... its just that it was another one that I saw recommended alongside Quicksilver so I downloaded that too. Don't know what to make of it... its very 'Macish'

Haven't used Yojimbo, but i'll give it alook

Theres a pretty good quicksilver guide <a href="http://lifehacker.com/software/quicksilver/hack-attack-a-beginners-guide-to-quicksilver-247129.php" title="here" rel="nofollow">here</a> thats worth a look.

Virtue is just a multiple desktop manager, its got eye candy, but it can be disabled. I've been using it for 3 years now and i've never had issues.

I've sent an invite for joost onto your blog address, its got a mac client now and its worth checking out

Fixed it.. I think because you had two links it goes into moderation queue to stop spammers. Not too sure about the Virtue desktop... is it just eye candy? I'm paranoid about eye candy, since for me it has only caused unnecessary problems (e.g., XGL/Compiz on Ubuntu).

Quicksilver... I have heard so much about it and I still can't figure out exactly what it is. I downloaded it the other day but haven't had a chance to try it out yet.
