Tonight we played DX! the old Belgian clan. A rust-driven bad decision on cp5 saw us held to a draw in the dying seconds of the game as we tried to defend a 2-0 lead far too early in the game, but we made up for that in a close game on cp9. Well played to Bubsie of TS fame, who had his first game for FH today.

Jolt Q3CTFL Season 21

Thankfully we have been accepted into the upcoming season of Jolt Quake 3 Capture the Flag League. Our first game is on Sunday at 8.30 against familiar opposition, the Belgians Dimension X (DX!). The other teams in division 3 include:

The LSR-heavy st0ner (minus their powerhouse sn0)
Dutch team Last Resort
The artists formerly known as Yadegari now known as Grand
A European team that I have never seen before called dark Saga (dRs)

This means that we are looking for games to get back into the swing of things.

Jolt Q3 CTFL Season 21

Who would believe that it has now reached Season 21 of the Barrysworld-Jolt leagues? Its a shame that Q3 TDM effectively died out (although some of us would say this is not true, having played against Hungary in the Nations Cup last night – Spacey might oblige with some screenshots). We joined the for the first time in Season 5, six years ago, and I’m glad to see that a few of the oldschool clans still remain.

So I signed us up for Jolt Q3 CTF League – keep your fingers crossed and The Foot might allow us in.

Went to WCG lan with killy Vin CBS – PPC MP Giblet Pyro etc.. was great set up. We had some great games of q3 including a CTF game with me and vin giblet Jazzy V killy CBS Pyro Dan – killys team won 4-3 due to cheating and stuff. We also had an official fh 2v2 chamionship game on ZTN killy+CBS v Spacey+Vin which me and vin won quite comfortably and a friendly kick around on prodm6 – cant remember who won that. All in all a great day out. I got in the Sunday Tribune about it too

BWCTFL Season 10 Over

We missed out on the 3rd place we were hoping for, so its 4th place again (same as last season)… not bad since this was a very competitive division. We did drop a few points needlessly, but it didn’t make much difference in the end. Congrats to scrb who deservedly came first, despite 6 draws and a loss. The fact that a strong team like iNF get relegated shows what kind of division this was… although I would expect to see them back in div2 next season at the admin’s discretion.

Yes, at last we have a broadbander! quozl has got his 1mbit/1mbit Wireless set up, lower dos ping than ISDN and doesn’t flood like mad in fights. There are only a few spare bedrooms left in his house so if you’re moving in you better be quick (I get his sister’s bedroom)

3rd time in 4 weeks, we’re the pick of the week in BWCTFL.

“Pick of Week 4 Fixtures – FH v >> – The two bottom sides meet in what is a big game for them before the Christmas break, >> (who added Morphy to their list this week) could have taken a map off FH last season but their inexperience caught them out in the end, they look to have improved a little since then though whilst FH haven’t been overly impressive in their 2 matches so far, should be a good game with 3 or 4 points for either side a nice early crimbo pressie. “

Savage Cup

Unfortunately we defaulted Savage Cup… I got home from the lan at 3:56pm on Sunday, should have gone straight to sleep since I was up all night, but popped on to check email and see how they were getting on, and Zero wasn’t able to get online so I ended up coaching the TDM which was scheduled for 4. With Vin and 2fish playing in the game, we were a short for players and wouldn’t have been able to get enough mercs either. Sorry if we kept any teams waiting :<

Weekly Review

Bigfoot’s weekly review is up on Quakenation, we’re pick of the week next week when we play iNF. Heres what bigfoot has to say about it:

“Games between these two are often good value for money and this should be no exception with iNf struggling for points and FH also not looking like the side they were last season, making the outcome unpredictable to say the least with FH perhaps having a point to prove seeing as they lost out in OpenCup 2 maps to nil.”

If our connects are a bit better than they were so far then it should be a good game – we’ve never managed to get our full team out for a league game against iNF. Unfortunately that would also be the case if we were to play the game this weekend, since most of us will be at a lan, so I’ve requested a postponement.
